Frequently asked
Questions:
Whats the difference between Microblading and Powder brows?
Microblading is a form of permanent makeup that uses a hand held tool and a sterile blade to make scratches in your skin that mimic the shape of a hair. Its best for someone who already has a brow, that wants added shape and fullness.
Powder Brows is donw with a machine and a single needle and creates pixels in the skin. The effect is more like makeup. It is good for all skin types. It’s what makes brows look full and luscious. Powder brows can be done as soft or as bold as one wants.
Do brows hurt?
We use numbing throught the whole treatment. Despite our best efforts, some people are not great numbers.
Do you have colors other than black?
YES! I have all the colors ranging from blonde to redhead, auburn to brunette. I rarely ever use black for brows unless you have a deep complexion.
Are you putting hair in my skin?
definitly not, I am scratching the skin using a blade and depositing ink into that cut. Microblading strokes are flat, they are not 3d
What if I want black brows?
Unless you have a deep complexion, I would never use black on you. I want your brows to look great for forever, not just for a few weeks.
How long in between touchups?
I tell clients to come back every 2-3 years, however some come back sooner and some can wait longer. It depemds on your skin type.
How do I know what shape will look best on me?
I will use a technique called brow mapping that will use your own facial features and help me place brows perfectly upon your face. You have total control when it comes to the final product, and we will work together to create something you love.
What if I want pink or green brows?
Then I’m not your artist
How do you pick the right color?
I custom blend pigments based on how they will heal in your skin, not how they will look on day 1. Pigment can shift during healing depending on your undertones, so I select colors that will settle into the right shade once fully healed.
What does it mean "color can shift"
it means change in color, either to an ashy grey tone or a red one.
Do powder brows look natural?
yes, they can look more natural than microblading in some cases. The key is to build up the colr gradually using a tiny needle, by doing this you can create something that is barely there or very bold and defined.
Can I get powder brows if I already have microblading?
Absolutley! Adding powder brows over existing microblading is one of the most requested services we do. It adds density and longevity to your haoir strokes
What does aftercare look like?
you can shower like normal. Keep your skincare and makeup off your brows for 7-10 days. No swimming, no excessive sweating, no picking. Leave them alone and they will heal beautifully!
Do I have to get black eyeliner?
no you do not however we recommend black for the best outcome. You may need to pay for an extra session if you pick a lighter color that you want to be darker
Does it ever completely fade away?
some people will see their brows completly fade away after a few years and some people’s color will never budge. Many factors go into why this happens, but it can be hard to predict, but can me mitigated.
What if the brow style I get is no longer popular?
I dont do fad brows, I do classic brows that compliment your unique face structure that will never go out of style
What is lip blush?
It is a lip tattoo that enhances and defines your lips. It can help enhance and even out natural color, or add color if you are lacking pigment. It can last 3-5 plus years
Can you have lip blush done if you have lip filler?
Yes, however filled lips can be harder to tattoo because:
1. the tissue is more hydrated and swollen.
2. they can swell considerably more then not filled lips
3. Pigment retention can be less predictable
This means that yes, filled lips can be tattooed however you may need an extra session depending on the saturation you want.
Does eyeliner hurt?
its actually the easiest and most painless services we offer.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
avoid blood thinners 24 hours before, skip skin irritants such as retinol creams, chemical peels, or tanning before the treatment, exfoliate your lips before lip blush, discontinue lash and brow growth serums at least 3 weeks prior to your liner or brow service, avoid caffiene the morning of.
How long does healing take?
