Microblading
Microblading, unlike tattooing, uses a hand held tool to implant pigment into the epidermal layer of the skin vs the dermal layer where tattoos go. The blade is made up of of between 14 and 21 tiny, sharp needles. Microblading is considered semi-permanent, but there is no guarantee that it will ever completely disappear from parts or all of the brow. This method is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows, as your brows will look very natrual.
The results are natural looking hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair already present. The pigments used in this method have been formulated to match your original eyebrow color, and if the eyebrows are still present, blend perfectly into them. The pigments are natural, plant-based and FDA-approved, not tested on animals and vegan, and made specifically for permanent makeup.
It is a 2-step procedure. After the “Perfecting Session” you will only need to come back for a touch up every 3-5 years, depending on skin type, to retain the shape and saturation of pigment. You will want your new brows to be at least 50-75% faded before you come back in for a touch up. Brows will start to look “muddy” if you keep layering color on top of color. It can only hold so much.
This isn’t a new trend, its been around for many years, but like everything else the TECHNOLOGY behind the art is very new. Lasts up to 3-5 years between touch-up appointments.
What Can I Expect During my Appointment?
- Consultation: we will have a thorough and detailed conversation about your current brow habits, wishes and desires. Pictures will be taken for reference and we will groom your brows if needed.
- We begin by using a method called “brow mapping” by using your face’s natural shape, hair growth, and bone structure. Once I have drawn the shape of your new brows, I will show you my design, and we will work together to make the shape exactly what you want.
- Color matching: we have colors to match every hair color, skin tone and under tones.
- Numbing
- Review of aftercare
- Microblading
The entire process takes about 90 minutes. Afterwards, you will receive an aftercare package with a copy of instructions for the care of your new beautiful brows.
Contraindications
You are NOT a candidate if you have any of the following:
- Prone to keloids
- Pregnant or nursing
- Diabetes: must be controlled and will need to obtain your Doctors approval.
- You must be off of chemotherapy drugs for at least 6 months prior to your appointment
- If you have metal in your body, speak with your Doctor about starting an antibiotic prior to your appointment.
- Botox in the past two weeks.
- Accutane in the past year.
- If you cant lay flat on your back for 90 minutes or more.
What to Expect After Microblading
Immediately following microblading your skin may feel tender and/or tight. No down time is expected after the microblading procedure. It takes about 7-14 days for the brows to heal over and about one month for the color to fully set in.
You will notice the color will get very light right around the one week mark; the skin will have a opaque milky looking quality to it. This is known as “milk skin” and is common in tattooing. This is due to the tissue still healing from the inside out, even though the surface of the skin is healed. True color will reveal itself once healed, about 4 weeks later. I will send you home with aftercare.

Lip Blush Tattoo
What is a Lip Blush Tattoo?
Trust me, its not what you’re thinking. Lip blush is softer alternative to a full color lip tattoo. Lip blush does not replace the need for lipstick, instead it helps define your natural lip shape that often fades and thins as we age.
How Long Does It Last?
2-7 years
What if I am Prone to Cold Sores?
If you have had cold sores in the past, don’t worry. Everyone getting a lip blush tattoo must contact their physician and ask for a prescription for valtrex (or maybe you already have it) for 1mg dose over 4 days. First dose is to be taken the day of the treatment, and the 3 subsequent days.
You can also boost your immune system and lip health by taking L-lysine found in the vitamin isle.
Before the Procedure
Avoid:
- any supplements with blood thinning side effects. If you aren’t sure then google it, as there are many.
- any blood thinning medications such as asprin and excedrin. If you need something for pain opt for a tylenol.
- alcohol 24 hours prior to service.
*homeopathic arnica TABLETS started the day of the treatment and as you heal (will help with bruising) and purchased on amazon.
After the Procedure
Ice your lips to reduce swelling.
No exercise 24-48 hours post treatment.
Expect swelling for 24 hours.
Expect flaky lips for about 5 days.
Does it Hurt?
Yes – it is a tattoo on your face. Numbing is used and I will try my best to get you comfortable, but expect moderate to mild pain.
Healing Process
Lip tattoo healing is pretty short.
About 3-5 days after treatment you will see flaking begin. It will feel as if you have layered on matte lipstick.
When all flakes are gone, it will appear as no color was retained. It will slowly come back, patchy at times, and you will not see the final, healed result for 6-8 weeks! Yes, that long!
Touch Ups
For some clients, a touch up may be necessary. For a bolder lip, it could take up to three sessions. These touch up’s are not included in the price and will be offered at a discounted rate.
Contraindications
Unfortunately, not everyone is a candidate for lip tattoo’s. Here is a list of who are NOT candidates:
- someone with diabetes
- current pregnancy
- someone with broken skin on the lips
- allergies to makeup or colors
- easily triggered post inflammatory hyperpigmentation
- hemophillia
- active skin cancer on the lips
- healing disorders
- blood thinners (consult physician)
- uncontrolled high blood pressure
- HIV, AIDS or hepatitis
- acutane and steroids
- currently taking antibiotics, must wait 2 weeks after round ends

Power Brow Tattoo
Powder brow is a technique that uses a tattoo machine and very tiny needle to build color and shape with a soft, pixelated effect on the skin. No microblading is performed in a powder brow service. The color will soften 20-30% once healed, and brows will last 2-5 years.

Hybrid Brow Tattoo
Hybrid brows are a stunning combination of microblading and powder brows. Both the manual microblading method and tattoo machine brow are used to create a brow that stands out a bit more then microblading alone, but still looks natural. Yearly touch ups are recommended to boost the color and microblading.
